Delhi Medical Association and RGCIRC Lead Awareness Drive on  World No Tobacco Day 2025

To mark World No Tobacco Day on 31st May 2025, the Delhi Medical Association (DMA) in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre (RGCIRC) organized a series of impactful events to spread awareness on the dangers of tobacco use and promote a tobacco-free lifestyle.

The day began with a spirited walkathon titled “Walk for Life – Quit Tobacco”, supported by IMA Delhi North Zone and IMA Rohini Branch. The walk aimed to motivate individuals to quit tobacco and adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Vijender Gupta, Speaker, Delhi Assembly. He was joined by senior dignitaries including Dr. Girish Tyagi, President, DMA,,Dr. Sudhir Kumar Rawal, Medical Director, RGCIR, Dr. Sunil Khetarpal, Governing Council Member, RGCIRC Dr. Archana Atreja, Medical Superintendent, RGCIRC, Dr. Praveen Bhatia, President, IMA Delhi North Zone,Dr. Rupesh Sharma, President, IMA Rohini
Over 300 participants, including doctors, healthcare professionals, and citizens from across Delhi, joined the morning walk to show their commitment to a tobacco-free future.
The day continued with a CME on Oncology in the evening at DMA House, Daryaganj, starting at 8:00 PM. The session will be graced by Prof. Dr. Rajeev Sood, Vice Chancellor, BFUHS, as Chief Guest, and Dr. Anil Goyal, MLA, as Guest of Honour. Keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Sudhir Kumar Rawal.
To conclude the awareness campaign, a Free Cancer Screening Camp will be organized on 1st June 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at DMA House, Daryaganj. The camp will offer:
